For FY2009 -10, ECHO provided information, <br /> Housing (Fair mediation services. counseling, and/or investigation into 16 fair housing inquiries or allegations of <br /> Housing) housing discrimination involving 30 clients. Of these clients. ECHO provided <br /> ; ounseling and investigative services in 15 cases involving 29 clients. With some <br /> =nes tenoning more than one type of discrimination, the allegations accounted <br /> for the following: nine cases involved disability. four involved familial status, one <br /> involved source of income, and one involved national origin. Below were the <br /> outcomes: <br /> • Three cases were pending; <br /> • One client dropped his/her complaint: <br /> • Nine cases had insufficient evidence; and <br /> • Two cases were conciliated by ECHO. <br /> Public Education Action 60.06 -A: Fair Work with ECHO Housing to conduct fair housing mining sessions for landlords Ongoing ACHIEVED and ADVANCE: This entails the City's efforts to affirmatively <br /> Housing'1'raining and property owners, tenants and homebuyers, realtors, and the public. Support promote fair housing practices. For FY2009 -10, ECHO's fair housing counselors <br /> Sessions ECHO's targeted audits to gauge the level of discrimination in the rental housing ;onducted 17 fair housing training sessions: <br /> market. • Four sessions for 195 landlords and property managers; <br /> • One Fair Housing Seminar for fourteen 14 persons; <br /> • Two sessions for 22 tenants or potential homebuyers; and <br /> • Ten general presentations for 19R persons. <br /> ECHO conducts random and targeted audits to gauge the level of discrimination <br /> in the rental housing market. A September 2010 audit measured the level of <br /> • discrimination based on nice. ECHO tested o total of 66 rental properties in <br /> Alameda and Santa Clam Counties. 15 of which were located in San Leandro (the <br /> largest sampling). The audit mooned that 14 of these properties exhibited no <br /> differential treatment, and one property had inconclusive results (i.e., testing <br /> errors or ambiguous differences in treatment). Overall, San Leandro and Hayward <br /> properties showed no fair housing violations compared to other jurisdictions. <br /> For 2010, ECHO participated in the annual Rental Housing Owners Association <br /> ;RHO) Management Fair Housing Training which provided training and <br /> :duration to 11 landlords on fair housing law and equal access in housing.
