• <br /> TITLE VII MAPS, BUILDINGS, AND SUBDIVISIONS <br /> • <br /> Chapter 3 Zoning <br /> Section 7 -3 -100: SHORT TITLE. This Chapter constitutes and <br /> may be referred to as the Zoning Ordinance. It provides for the <br /> division of the City into districts within each of which uses of <br /> land and buildings, and the height and bulk of buildings and open <br /> spaces about them are regulated and specified. <br /> Section 7 -3 -101: PURPOSES. This Zoning Ordinance is adopted <br /> to promote and protect the public health, safety, peace, comfort, <br /> convenience and general welfare, and for the following more <br /> particularly specified purposes: <br /> (a) To guide, control and regulate the future growth of the <br /> City of San Leandro; <br /> (b) To encourage orderly and beneficial new development and <br /> protect both property values and the character and <br /> stability of existing development which is in conformity <br /> with the General Ccmmunity Guide; <br /> (c) To provide adequate light, air, privacy, convenience of <br /> access to property and reduction in the consumption of <br /> non - renewable energy resources, and to secure safety <br /> from fire and other dangers; <br /> (d) To prevent overcrowding the land and undue concestion of <br /> population; <br /> (e) To regulate the location of buildings and the use of <br /> buildings and land so as to prevent undue• interference <br /> with existing or.prospective traffic movements on public <br /> thoroughfares; <br /> (Ordinance No. 81 -016, 3/16/81) <br /> Section 7 -3 -102: CLASSES OF DISTRICT. For the purposes of <br /> this Chapter, the City of San Leandro is divided, as shown on maps <br /> included herein by reference, into the following classes of <br /> districts. <br /> .2/1/82 <br /> -1- <br /> • <br />
