Number of Meetings and Convenience for Residents
The City of San Leandro Recreation and Human Services Department (Department) is
committed to engaging a broad spectrum of citizens in its various planning processes.
In recent years, all new San Leandro park renovation projects have been accomplished
using community engagement and input.
,The Department facilitated eight meetings for the proposed project in the critically
underserved community beginning in January 2010, with the final meeting on February
3, 2010. The meetings conformed to the Proposition 84 grant application guidelines.
Four meetings occurred in the evening, which was convenient for those who work
and /or have school during the day. Three meetings occurred during regularly
scheduled public community meetings at which residents were already present and it
was convenient for them to both engage in their usual event and participate in the park-
related discussion. Two meetings occurred at Washington Elementary School during
school hours. Meeting information is further detailed in the following table.
MEETING
MEETING TYPE, VENUE, ADDRESS
TIME
DAY
DATEIYEAR
#
OF
WEEK
1
Type Youth Advisory Commission
6pm
Tues
1/19/2010
Meeting
Venue Sister Cities Gallery at City Hall
Address 835 E. 14 St.
City of San Leandro Proposition 84 Narrative
4 of 24
