4. Public Comments <br />None <br />5. Committee Member Comments <br />Councilmember Souza stated that along with Councilmember Gregory, she attended the Fire <br />Commission Meeting. At this meeting it was announced that Alameda County Fire Department <br />(ACFD) will be participating in a pilot program to add medical facilities to some of the fire <br />stations, including the possibility of two in San Leandro. ACFD will be looking to the City to <br />assist with the capital funding, with the County and ACFD funding the program for 3 years. The <br />medical facilities will be providing primary (basic) care and will be staffed with an Emergency <br />Medical Technician (EMT), a nurse practitioner, and an administrative staff person. The intent <br />of the program will be to lesson the burden being place on hospital emergency rooms with non- <br />emergency related issues. <br />City Manager Hollister stated that this program was presented to the Executive Management <br />Oversight Committee and it was agreed that during the pilot program, modular trailers would be <br />provided prior to any remodeling to fire stations. <br />Mayor Cassidy asked that Chief Gilbert be invited to present more information to the Finance <br />Committee at a future date. <br />6.
