Winton Avenue, Room 111 Hayward, CA 94544 (510) 670-6511 May 18, 2004 Debbie Pollart, Planning Manager City of San Leandro 835 East 14 Street San Leandro, CA 94577 SUBJ: Revised Airport Influence Area (AIA) map for Hayward Airport and the Oakland International Airport; ALUC Land Use Policy Plan Update Dear Ms. jetrart, As follow up to our conversation a few weeks ago, I am sending for your review the revised Airport Influence Area (AIA) map for the Oakland Airport. Please note that the new term, `AIA', is synonymous with the `General Referral Area' in the current ALUC Airport Land Use Plan. In our Plan Update, we will be changing the name from General Referral Area to the Airport Influence Area , or AIA, to be consistent with the language of AB 2776 (Simitian) which affects real estate discloser law. The intention is to avoid any confusion for those concerned. The proposed eastern boundary for the Oakland AIA has been revised to extend to San Leandro Boulevard from High Street in Alameda to Davis Street in San Leandro. This is a reduction in area that falls within the city limits of San Leandro from the prior maps you reviewed. We reexamined the data after receiving comments on the prior maps, and feel the new boundary more accurately reflects the flight patterns and noise contours for Oakland Airport. If you approve of the revised map, please send me a letter to that effect.
