Measure A Health and Wellness Services 3 September 6, 2011
Code Compliance Review
NA
Board /Commission Findings
NA
Summary of Public Outreach Efforts
NA
Fiscal Impact
This program will cost $50,000, which requires establishing a separate special revenue grant
fund for the Senior Community Center that will be reflected in the FY 2011 -2012 Budget Fund
150 for Fifty - Thousand Dollars ($50,000) in expenditures and will be funded by a Measure A
Grant revenues from Alameda County in the amount of Fifty- Thousand dollars ($50,000).
Budget Authority
James H. W Leary, Interim Finance Director
Attachments
NA
CONCLUSION
Prior to opening the Senior Community Center, the Senior Services staff was significantly
reduced through budget cuts. Although the Senior Community Center has been thriving since
opening in April, it has been a challenge to operate the facility and grow programs with limited
staff. The additional part -time staff provided by the Measure A Grant will allow Recreation and
Human Services to maintain quality senior services, grow programs and continue to offer critical
health and wellness services to San Leandro seniors.
