14901 E. 14`' St. Site Demolition Award of Contract 2 S eptember 6, 2011 This project will demolish the existing building at this location, including abating any hazardous materials contained within the structure. The site will be graded and fenced. A subsequent project will conduct soil remediation to remove contaminated material prior to the main intersection improvements. Analysis The bids were opened on June 21, 2011. Six (6) bids were received ranging from $41,394.50 to $66,674.50. Musco Excavators, Inc. was the lowest responsive bidder. The engineer's estimate for the work was $78,210.00. Staff has also verified that the contractor is in good standing through the Contractors State License Board's website. Current City Council Policy To improve safety of bicyclists, pedestrians and vehicular traffic on City roadways.
