PUE 2700 Merced Street 2 September 6, 2011 <br />Previous Citv Council Actions <br />• On May 3, 2010, by Resolution No. 2010 -043, the City Council certified the Environmental <br />Impact Report and approved the mitigation measures for the Kaiser Permanente San Leandro <br />Medical Center <br />• On June 20, 2011, by Resolution No. 2011 -127, the City Council approved an improvement <br />agreement with Kaiser Foundation Hospitals for public improvements on Merced Street and <br />Fairway Drive <br />Applicable General Plan Policy <br />General Plan Policy 44.05 Street Beautification - City should implement programs to <br />underground utilities along commercial thoroughfares. <br />Permits and /or Variances Granted <br />Construction of the improvements will require an encroachment and building permit. <br />Environmental Review <br />Environmental review of the Kaiser project was certified on May 3, 2010 by Resolution No. <br />2010 -043. <br />This action relates to work that is a component of the approved project and no further <br />environmental review is required. <br />Summary of Public Outreach Efforts <br />City staff and Kaiser personnel have been in contact with the property owner regarding the <br />impacts that the project will have upon 2700 Merced Street. <br />Fiscal Impact <br />All costs associated with this action will be paid by the developer, Kaiser Permanente. <br />Budget Authority <br />The developer has deposited money into Customer Account 22272 to cover the costs of this <br />action.
