BFWC projects a June <br />2012 completion date. <br />Spectrum Community Services continued to collaborate with CalTrans, and now with <br />Alameda County Housing and Community Development Department, Alameda County <br />Redevelopment Agency, Alameda County Housing Authority, and Eden Housing as well, <br />to execute the purchase option for the new location for its centralized kitchen. Spectrum <br />continued architectural and engineering activities, but it is expending Alameda County <br />CDBG funds before the City's CDBG funds for these activities. <br />• The construction of tenant improvements (drywall, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and <br />architectural finishes) at the child care center at The Alameda at San Leandro Crossings <br />has not yet begun. As already explained above, The Alameda at San Leandro Crossings <br />project, which proposes the development of 100 affordable rental housing units, is <br />currently delayed. <br />• Other miscellaneous activities: <br />The City began repaying the $2.5 million Section 108 Loan that HUD provided for the <br />construction of the City's new Senior Community Center in accordance with its 20 -year <br />repayment schedule. The City makes its required payments on August and February of <br />each fiscal year using CDBG funds. <br />HUD -EDI funded projects: <br />• The City completed its East 14'1' Street Streetscape & Pedestrian Safety Improvements <br />project, which consists of installing new landscaped medians, enhanced pedestrian <br />crosswalks, and other related streetscape improvements along an eight -block long <br />segment-af-East-14'h Street (from 136"' Avenue to 144`x' Avenue). The project is partially <br />funded by the City's HUD Economic Development Initiative Grant (HUD -EDI) for <br />$346,500.
