14901 E. 14" St. Site Remediation <br />Award of Contract 3 Septem 19, 2011 <br />• On June 20, 2011 by Resolution No. 2011 -118, the City Council approved Plans and <br />Specifications and Called for Bids for the subject project <br />Applicable General Plan Policy <br />Policy 18.02 — Capital Improvements: Identify capital improvements and other measures, which <br />improve the safety of bicyclists, pedestrians, and motor vehicles on San Leandro streets. <br />Environmental Review <br />A Negative Declaration was previously prepared for this project and referenced as State <br />Clearinghouse Number SCH 2005102131. <br />Board /Commission Findings <br />On August 28, 2008, the Planning Commission found that the acquisition(s) of the property(s) <br />necessary for this project was in conformance with the General Plan. <br />Fiscal Impact <br />The total estimated cost of the 14901 East 14 Street Remediation project is $355,447.65, <br />including costs for design, construction and construction contingencies and administration. <br />Budget Authority <br />As part of the Purchase and Sale Agreement (executed in December 2009) between the <br />Redevelopment Agency of the City and the Seller of the 14901 East 14 Street property, a <br />Cleanup Revolving Fund in the amount of $473,750 was set aside for the cleanup of the site. <br />The City is eligible ti) draw from this Fund for costs related to remediation. <br />The remediation itponent of the project is fully funded by existing appropriation in Account <br />No. 962 -3 -022. <br />James U InAim Finance Director <br />CONCLUSION <br />Staff recommends award of contract to the low bidder, Dillard Trucking, Inc. in the amount of <br />$175,417.65 for the subject project. <br />G:\ Items In Process \SEP 19 \14901 E 14th St Remediation - AWARD \14901 E14th Remediation Award MEM.Docx <br />
