CONCLUSION <br />The approval of the resolution will authorize staff to move forward with the legally required <br />Prop. 218 procedures before the City may change the purpose of the previously approved sewer <br />and wastewater treatment rate increases. Compliance with the procedures, followed by no <br />majority protest to the proposed repurpose of the rates will allow the City to create a fund to <br />reimburse rate payers when they have to reconnect their property's private sewer laterals to the <br />City maintained sewerage system. <br />
