File Number: 11 -080 <br />to allow proper flow. <br />Analysis <br />A construction contract was awarded to Andes Construction on May 16, 2011 in the amount <br />of $425,010.00. Construction began on July 21, 2011. Construction and punch list work <br />were completed on September 12, 2011. <br />Previous Citv Council Action(s <br />• On March 21, 2011, by Resolution No. 2011 -065, <br />specifications and called for bids for the subject project <br />• On May 16, 2011, by Resolution No. 2011 -093, <br />Andes Construction <br />Applicable General Plan Policy <br />City Council approved the plans and <br />City Council awarded the contract to <br />Goal 52 - Ensure that local water, sewer, storm drainage, and solid waste facilities are well <br />maintained; improvements meet existing and future needs; and land use decisions are <br />contingent on the adequacy and maintenance of such facilities. <br />Environmental Review <br />Through CEQA review under Class 15, Minor Land Subdivisions, of Title 5, Chapter 1 of the <br />San Leandro Administrative Code, this project was deemed Categorically Exempt. <br />Summary of Public Outreach Efforts <br />Letters were sent to property owners notifying them of construction dates and times. No <br />parking signs were posted 72 hours prior to the start of enforcement. <br />Fiscal Impact <br />The total cost of the project was $550,000.00. The cost of the construction contract was as <br />follows: <br />Original Contract $425,010.00 <br />Contract Change Orders $ 4,275.10 <br />Total Contract Amount $429,285.10 <br />Change order items included manual compaction of the subgrade to account for the clayey <br />soil encountered along the alignment of the trench and additional excavation and restoration <br />costs associated with the sandy area encountered along the trench. <br />The sanitary sewer improvement was funded using the Water Pollution Control Plant <br />Enterprise funds approved as part of the FY 2009 -10 budget in CIP Account No. <br />593 -52 -247. <br />City of San Leandro Page 2 Printed on 10/11/2011 <br />
