IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2011 -174 <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES FIRST RESPONDER <br /> ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT (FRALS) SERVICES AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY <br /> AND THE COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Alameda is designated as the Local Emergency <br /> Medical Services Agency (LEMSA) responsible for regulating advanced life support providers <br /> within Alameda County and for authorizing the provision of ALS response and transport within <br /> the County; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Health and Safety Code Sections 1797.204 and 1798, among <br /> others, the County of Alameda LEMSA is responsible for system coordination, medical <br /> oversight, and support of the delivery of all emergency medical services by provider agencies <br /> such as Alameda County Fire Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, in January 2000, the City agreed by contract with Alameda County Fire <br /> Department (ACFD) to provide 911 First Responder Advanced Life Support ( FRALS) services <br /> on all fire and emergency first responder service calls; and <br /> WHEREAS the Emergency Medical Services FRALS Services Agreement, a copy of <br /> which is attached, is between the City and the County of Alameda LEMSA to provide said <br /> FRALS for the extended term through October 31, 2016; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended the approval of said agreement and the <br /> City Council has reviewed the contents of this Agreement. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br /> follows: <br /> Section 1. All of the above recitals are true and incorporated herein. <br /> Section 2. That said agreement, attached hereto, is hereby approved. <br /> Section 3. The City Manager (or her designee) is hereby authorized and directed, on behalf of <br /> the City, to make all approvals and take all actions necessary or appropriate to carry out, <br /> implement and administer said Agreement. <br /> Introduced by Councilmember Cutter and passed and adopted this 3rd day of October, <br /> 2011, by the following vote: <br />
