Resolution - Council <br />File Number: 11 -320 Agenda Section: CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO: City Council <br />FROM: Lianne Marshall <br />Interim City Manager /Executive Director <br />BY: James O'Leary <br />Interim Finance Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW: James O'Leary, Interim Finance Director <br />TITLE: ADOPT: Resolution Authorizing the Purchase of Two Fire Apparatus Through <br />a Lease /Purchase Financing Agreement <br />WHEREAS, the Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD), in serving as the City's <br />fire department, has a need to replace two of its existing fire apparatus; and <br />WHEREAS, although the City contracts with the ACFD for fire services, all facilities <br />and equipment, including fire engines, are owned and provided by the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the bid price by Golden State Fire Apparatus for each 2010 Pierce Arrow <br />XT unit is $485,545, inclusive of costs for inspection, delivery, and sales tax. The total <br />amount of the purchase and the related financing for the two engines is $971,900; and <br />WHEREAS, the City proposes to purchase the fire engine by piggy- backing on the <br />County bid to benefit from the County's bid process. In addition, staff proposes to finance <br />the purchase of the new fire engine (not the cost of any equipment to outfit the fire engine) <br />through a five year lease /purchase agreement with Oshkosh Capital. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />San Leandro as follows: <br />To approve the resolution authorizing acquisition of two replacement pumper fire <br />trucks and financing through a lease purchase agreement with Oshkosh Capital and <br />authorizing the City Manager to execute the lease purchase agreement and other <br />documents necessary to finance the acquisition. <br />City of San Leandro Page 1 Printed on 11/1/2011 <br />
