Resolution - Council <br />File Number: 11 -366 Agenda Section: CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO: City Council <br />FROM: Lianne Marshall <br />Interim City Manager /Executive Director <br />BY: Uchenna Udemezue <br />Engineering & Transportation Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW: James O'Leary <br />Interim Finance Director <br />TITLE: ADOPT: Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Negotiate the Purchase of <br />a Portion of 501 143rd Avenue to Widen the Public Right -of -Way at the Corner <br />of 143rd and Washington Avenues to Allow for the Relocation of a Signal <br />Controller Box <br />Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Negotiate the Purchase of a Portion of 501 143rd <br />Avenue to Widen the Public Right -of -Way at the Corner of 143rd and Washington Avenues <br />to Allow for the Relocation of a Signal Controller Box <br />WHEREAS, it has come to the City's attention that it is necessary to relocate a signal <br />controller box at the intersection of 143rd and Washington Avenues because of repeated <br />instances of trucks hitting and disabling the controller box while turning from 143rd Avenue <br />to Washington Avenue; and <br />WHEREAS, City engineering staff analyzed all viable options and determined that the <br />most efficient approach will be to relocate the signal controller box back behind the sidewalk <br />area, which will require the acquisition of 67.5 sq. ft. in fee and 155.67 sq. ft. for a temporary <br />construction easement at the property owned by Public Storage; and <br />WHEREAS, under California Government Code section 65402, and San Leandro <br />Administrative Code section 5.7.105, the acquisition of this property is exempt from a <br />General Plan Conformance finding by the Planning Commission; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends this action to preserve the City's streets <br />and traffic control devices. <br />follows: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />City of San Leandro Page 1 Printed on 11/29/2011 <br />
