In that fax, you outlined the EBMUD policies for new <br />water service for the proposed project at the subject site and recommended that the City <br />include a Condition of Approval related to the Caliifornia Model Water Efficient <br />Landscape Ordinance (WELD.) <br />As a response, staff notes that the applicant has been made aware of the EBMUD <br />policies for new water services and forwarded the comment letter. In addition, Planning <br />staff had previously included a Recommended Condition of Approval mandating <br />compliance with the City of San Leandro Article 19 Landscape, which codifies the WELD <br />regulations from the model WELD. The text for that Recommended Condition of <br />Approval is as follows: <br />111 -C. Prior to issuance of building permits, the developer shall submit final landscape <br />and irrigation plans for the review and approval of the Community Development Director. <br />The plans shall include such details as, 9) tree size, species and location; 2) shrubs and <br />groundcovers; 3) installation specifications, including tree staking; 4) irrigation details, 5) <br />water conservation techniques; and 6) maintenance programs. Final landscape and <br />irrigation plans shall conform to the Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance as codified in <br />Article 99 of the San Leandro Zoning Code. <br />Thank you for your response to the environmental review.
