City Council Minutes - Draft February 6, 2012 <br />Newly appointed Planning Commissioner Ed Hernandez took his Oath of Office <br />administered by the City Clerk. <br />3. PUBLIC HEARINGS — CITY COUNCIL <br />None. <br />4. PUBLIC HEARINGS — OTHER <br />None. <br />5. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />DAVID JOHNSON, San Leandro Chamber of Commerce, welcomed new City <br />Manager Chris Zapata, and commented on the loss of the Redevelopment Agency. <br />ROBERT MARRUJO, San Leandro resident, commented on individuals frequenting <br />the downtown area, who are homeless or have mental health issues, and the issues <br />they create for residents and local businesses. Mr. Marrujo suggested making <br />business owners aware of available resources to deal with the situation. He <br />commented that the proposed School District parcel tax is unfair, because it is paid <br />only by property owners, but voted on by everyone. <br />6. CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY REPORTS AND <br />COMMENTS <br />Mr. Zapata reported on details related to the Council de legation's lobbying efforts in <br />the upcoming trip to Washington, D.C. <br />7. AMENDMENT OF CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Item Numbers 8. E., 8.F. and 8.J. were removed from the Consent Calendar to Item 9, <br />Items Removed from Consent Calendar. <br />8. CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Approval of the Consent Calendar <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Cutter, seconded by Councilmember <br />Prola, to Approve the Consent Calendar.
