xN <br />City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: March 5, 2012 <br />Resolution - Council <br />File Number: 12 -103 <br />Agenda Section: CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO: City Council <br />FROM: Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY: Lianne Marshall <br />Assistant City Manager <br />FINANCE REVIEW: Not Applicable <br />TITLE: ADOPT: Resolution Approving the Voluntary Incentive Separation Program <br />for Eligible City Employees Affected by Lack of Redevelopment Funding <br />(provides cash incentive, up to $15,000 from the General Fund per eligible <br />employee, for voluntary separation) <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that administrative funding which pays for <br />Redevelopment staffing has been severely curtailed by the State; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager is recommending an incentive program for voluntary <br />separation in order to minimize the impacts of layoff; and <br />WHEREAS, the City will restrict the approved Program to those full -time individuals <br />affected by lack of Redevelopment funding in the Community Development Department, who <br />are willing to separate voluntarily prior to July 1, 2012, and who will receive an incentive <br />amount capped at a maximum of $15,000 per eligible individual. <br />follows: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />That the Voluntary Incentive Separation Program for those eligible employees affected <br />by the lack of Redevelopment Funding in order to provide an incentive for separation is <br />hereby approved and implementation of said Program by the City Manager is hereby <br />authorized. <br />City of San Leandro Page 1 Printed on 212812012 <br />
