IL DECLARATION THAT PROJECT WILL NOT SIGNIFICANTLY AFFECT <br />ENVIRONMENT: <br />The proposed project will have no significant effect on the area's resources, cumulative or <br />otherwise. <br />III. FINDINGS SUPPORTING DECLARATION: <br />A. The project occurs within the City's existing and developed ROW and involves <br />acquisition of a property that formerly housed a gasoline station and acquisition of <br />additional ROW on the east side of Bancroft Ave. and the west side of East 14' St. The <br />acquired property will be used for roadway improvements and for installation of new <br />landscaping. The proposed project is an appropriate use of the property. <br />B. The proposed project has been reviewed according to the standards and requirements of <br />the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and an Initial Study Environmental <br />Evaluation Checklist has been prepared with a determination that the project will not <br />have a significant impact on the environment and as long as the applicant complies with <br />all identified mitigation measures. <br />C. Potential impacts to hazards can be adequately mitigated as long as mitigation identified <br />by staff is implemented prior to issuance of grading permits. The mitigation measures <br />are conditions of approval. <br />D. There is no evidence of historical or archaeological resources within the project area. <br />Potential impacts to unknown resources can be adequately mitigated as long as <br />mitigation identified by staff is implemented during the construction phase.
