File Number: 11 -308 <br />Ensure well- maintained sewer facilities. <br />Previous Actions <br />• On July 6, 2009, by Resolution No. 2009 -100 the City Council approved a consulting <br />services agreement with Creegan + D'Angelo for the design and environmental plan <br />• On February 7, 2011, by Resolution No. 2011 -015, the City Council authorized the City <br />Manager to execute a Supplemental Agreement with Union Pacific Railroad to document <br />the existing pipeline crossing its right -of -way <br />• On April 4, 2011, by Resolution No. 2011 -069, the City Council adopted a Mitigated <br />Negative Declaration, approved the plans and specifications and called for bids for the <br />subject project <br />• On May 16, 2011, by Resolution No. 2011 -092, the City Council awarded construction of <br />the project to Redwood Engineering Company, the lowest responsive bidder <br />Applicable General Plan Policies <br />Policy 52.04: Maintain efficient, environmentally sound, and cost - effective wastewater <br />collection and treatment services in San Leandro. <br />Permits and/or Variances Granted <br />Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation Department Encroachment <br />Permit <br />• California Department of Fish and Game Permit <br />Environmental Review <br />California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Mitigated Negative Declaration was filed with <br />Alameda County pursuant to Section 15301 "Existing Facilities ". <br />Fiscal Impacts <br />The cost of the construction contract was as follows: <br />Redwood Engineering Co. Original Contract $329,440.00 <br />2336 El Camino Real Change Orders $157,837.58 <br />Redwood City, CA 94063 Total Contract Amount $487,277.58 <br />Significant change order items include: abatement of existing paint containing low levels of <br />lead; repainting entire structures; and acceleration of the schedule to complete abatement <br />and contract work within permitted period. <br />Budget Authority <br />Funding was appropriated initially in April 2004 for the Sanitary Sewer Line Replacements in <br />Account No. 593 -52 -121 and additional funds were transferred into the project from <br />City of San Leandro Page 2 Printed on 411012012 <br />
