Alameda CTC Paratransit Program Application
Application Period July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013
Page 3 of 22
2. Will your planned program for FY 12 -13 meet the Paratransit Program Implemention
Guidelines? See the appendix for the implemention guidelines. Programs are not required to
meet the implemention guidelines until FY 13 -14. (max. 700 characters)
The Flex Shuttle and Medical Transportation service will meet all of the guidelines in 2012 -13 with the
following exception:
1. The Door -to -Door service guidelines do not permit a limit on trip purpose. This requirement contradicts
the purpose of the Medical Transportation service provided through the MSL Grant. Medical transportation
is consistently identified as the number one need by our riders. Since medical needs cannot be fully met by
the shuttle service, the MSL Medical Transportation is critical.
3. If proposing service changes from this fiscal year, please describe what changes are
proposed and why. Please describe how these changes will impact the ability of seniors and
people with disabilities in your community to meet their basic life needs. (max. 700
characters)
ch year we conduct a survey of all riders and hold two workshops in order to get input from our riders
d plan for the next fiscal year. This year riders suggested three route changes that would better meet
eir needs. The South Shuttle will be modified to access the shopping center at the west end of Lewelling
✓d, re- routed at the end of Doolittle Drive to better serve a residential neighborhood that has requested
rvice and re- routed through Greenhouse Marketplace shopping center to provide convenient access to
are stores. These changes have already been implemented.
DEVELOPMENT OF PROGRAM PLAN
4. How was consumer input sought in development of your program plan and selection of
the services offered? Describe all activities undertaken in connection with this plan,
including consumer or public meetings; meetings with other agencies; presentations to
boards, commissions, or committees. If possible provide general dates for these activities.
(See questions 4A and 48 that follow; max. 500 characters.)
ublic input for the Annual Paratransit Plan was collected through the annual survey of riders and the
Mowing public meetings:
ebruary 2012 - Annual Survey of Registered Riders (31 % Response)
ebruary 16, 2012 - Senior Commission
ebruary 21, 2012 - Annual FLEX Workshop
ebruary 29, 2012 - Annual FLEX Workshop
larch 15, 2012 - Senior Commission
