City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: June 4, 2012 <br />Resolution - Council <br />File Number: 12 -182 Agenda Section: CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO: City Council <br />FROM: Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY: Uchenna Udemezue <br />Engineering & Transportation Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW: David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE: ADOPT: Resolution Approving Plans and Specifications and Calling for Bids <br />for the Fiber Loop Project (establishes a complete redundant fiber optic ring <br />throughout the city at a cost of $120,000; $80,000 from Development Fees for <br />Street Improvement [DFSI] funds and $40,000 from the General Fund) <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Leandro has established the <br />Development Fees for Street Improvement (DFSI) to mitigate traffic impacts and provide for <br />efficient traffic movement; and <br />WHEREAS, the Fiber Loop Project will allow for the maintenance of efficient traffic <br />movement by providing continued communication among the City's traffic signals; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Leandro has reviewed and considered <br />the Categorical Exemption prepared for the Fiber Loop Project, and any comments received <br />and hereby finds that the project will not have a significant impact on the environment. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council finds that the project will not have a significant <br />impact on the environment; and <br />The City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br />approved; and <br />That the specifications, special provisions, and plans for said project are hereby <br />2. That bids are hereby called for and the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish <br />notice thereof once in the official newspaper of this City; and <br />3. That said bids shall be submitted to the office of the City Clerk on or before the <br />date and time specified in the public notice, at which such specified date, time, and place said <br />bids will be publicly opened and read; and <br />City of San Leandro Page 1 Printed on 512912012 <br />
