City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: June 4, 2012 <br />Staff Report <br />File Number: 12 -237 Agenda Section: CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: 8.M. <br />TO: City Council <br />FROM: Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY: Lianne Marshall <br />Assistant City Manager <br />FINANCE REVIEW: Not Applicable <br />TITLE: Staff Report to Amend the San Leandro Management Organization and San <br />Leandro City Employees' Association Salary Schedules <br />III]Jihyi /e1 :rail 011 1N; Ks] LyiILyiIN101I7e ,II[a]06"] <br />It is recommended that the City Council adopt resolutions to amend the salary schedules of <br />the respective employee groups in order to approve and establish salaries for new <br />classifications. <br />- Tits] life] Yell] 01 W7 <br />Staff recommends that the following classifications be added to their respective employee <br />group's salary schedule to provide needed support to City services: <br />Human Resources Manager: The City Manager's Office requests approval to add the <br />Human Resources Manager classification specification into the San Leandro Management <br />Organization salary schedule. This classification will help set the direction for the Human <br />Resources Division's activities as well as support its workload and the City's workforce on an <br />ongoing basis. Currently, assistance is provided by a part -time Interim management position. <br />The position will oversee the City's employee relations program as well as provide expert -level <br />leadership to all Human Resources activities and staff. This position will also serve as a <br />point -of- contact to department heads and relieve other staff of the City Manager's Office of <br />the majority of decision - making related to HR activities, functions and priorities. <br />Crime Analysis Technician: The Police Department is requesting approval to add the <br />classification specification of Crime Analysis Technician to the San Leandro City Employees' <br />Association salary schedule. Currently, the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) has <br />administrative support from a part -time Administrative Assistant 11, three days per week. The <br />new, specialized position would conduct research and analysis and communicate timely and <br />pertinent information related to crime pattern detection, suspect -crime correlation, target <br />City of San Leandro Page 1 Printed on 512912012 <br />
