Medical Marijuana Dispensaries and Associated Issues Presented to the California Chiefs of Police Association September to December 2007 Cmdr. M. Regan As we have discussed in the past, the problems associated with Marijuana Dispensaries go far beyond the confines of the physical location. The marijuana sold at dispensaries is most often grown off site. Dispensaries and these off site grows have attracted a well armed and very violent group of criminals seeking to profit from the theft of marijuana and large sums of cash. The under reporting of these crimes as well as a lack of regulation of these businesses no doubt add to the problem.
