Marijuana Mansions
By STEVEN KURUTZ / Published: December 9, 2007
Marijuana growers have long faced a dilemma. If they grow pot outdoors, weather conditions are
unpredictable, and plants can be spotted from the air or accidentally discovered ..... According to Lt. Greg
Garland of the sheriff's department in San Bernardino County, where more than 50 pot houses have been
raided this year, the growers favor newer communities in outlying suburbs because they get more space
for the money, and residents pay scant attention to their neighbors.
Source:
http: / /www.nytimes.com/ 2007 /12/09 /magazine /09marijuana.html9 r=1 &ref = magazine &oref= slogin
Warehouse pot growing operation found in Santa Cruz County
The Associated Press / 12/31/2007
SOQUEL, Calif A marijuana growing operation has been uncovered in a Soquel warehouse.... It has been opined that outdoor growers were moving to indoor grow
operations as the indoor grows were less susceptible to theft and seizure by law enforcement. However,
both growing styles appear to be on the rise. It is expected that seizures of marijuana grown outdoors will
continue the previous year's upward trend.
Marijuana Cultivation Sites Eradicated in Merced River Drainage
Author: National Park Service / Published on Oct 4, 2007, 08:47
On the 26th and 27th of September 2007, approximately 30 law enforcement officers from the Mariposa
County Sheriff s Office, the US Forest Service, the California Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement (CAMP),
and Yosemite National Park raided four illegal marijuana cultivation sites ......
