Measure Z Recruitment Overview <br />11 qualified candidates submitted applications by the June 13 deadline; 3 applicants submitted after the <br />deadline. <br />Of the 11 qualified applicants, 4 of the 5 council- approved qualifications were achieved. The one <br />missing qualification was a "Retail Representative of the Downtown Business Association ". <br />After a discussion with the Deputy City Atty and City Clerk, it seems the Council will have two choices: 1. <br />Choose 4 members from the 11 qualified applicants and allow the Council to pick the fifth candidate <br />from the Downtown Business Association. Or, 2. Choose 5 members and amend Reso 2012 -24, which <br />requested a "Retail Representative from the DBA" , to remove this requirement the Council would need <br />to amend Reso 2012 -24. <br />Of the 5 qualifications sought by the Resolution <br />1. Representative of the Chamber of Commerce — 1. David Grodin <br />2. Officer from a HOA or Neighborhood Associations —4. Geraldine Mellen, George Tucker, Corina <br />Lopez, and Robert Engelhart <br />3. City Board or Commission Member— S. Ed Hernandez, Cimberly Tamura, Esther Collier, Arlene <br />Lum, Philip Daly <br />4. Owner or Manager of a business located in San Leandro — 1. Christine Wise (Collier and Lopez <br />are also business owners in SL) <br />S. Retail DBA member-- none <br />
