pr City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: July 16, 2012 <br />�x,ka,ti` f Resolution - Council <br />File Number: 12 -380 Agenda Section: CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO: City Council <br />FROM: Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY: Uchenna Udemezue <br />Engineering & Transportation Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW: David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE: ADOPT: Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Enter into a <br />Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Alameda County <br />Transportation Commission (ACTC) to Expand the ACTC Safe Routes to <br />School (SR2S) Program in San Leandro for the 2012 -13 School Year and <br />Appropriating $109,714 of Measure B Bicycle and Pedestrian Funds for the <br />Work (expands the ACTC -SR2S program to include all thirteen K -8th public <br />schools using Measure B Bicycle and Pedestrian Funds) <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro is a recipient of a State Safe Routes to School <br />Non - infrastructure (SRTS -NI) Grant for traffic safety education in the city's thirteen K -8th <br />public schools ; and <br />WHEREAS, the Alameda County Transportation Commission (ACTC) implements the <br />ACTC -Safe Routes to School program in seven city K -8th public schools; and <br />WHEREAS, the City and the ACTC have agreed in principle to expand the <br />ACTC -SR2S program to include all thirteen K -8th public schools to provide for a concerted <br />and coordinated traffic safety educational effort; and <br />WHEREAS, the City desires to implement the expanded ACTC -SR2S program before <br />the beginning of the school year at a cost of $109,714; and <br />WHEREAS, Measure B Bicycle and Pedestrian funds will be used for this program. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />1. That the City Manager is authorized to approve a Memorandum of Understanding <br />with the Alameda County Transportation Commission to expand the ACTC Safe Routes to <br />School Program in San Leandro for the 2012 -13 school year, subject to the approval of the <br />City Attorney as to form; and <br />City of San Leandro Page 1 Printed on 711012012 <br />
