IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2002 - 113 (1841) <br /> RESOLUTION REQUESTING APPLICATION AND <br /> APPROPRIATION OF FISCAL YEAR 2002 FEDERAL <br /> LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT MONIES <br /> (Provides for a Total of $130,458 to Fund the School Resource <br /> Officer Program in San Leandro Schools During <br /> the City's Fiscal Year 2003 -2004) <br /> WHEREAS, the City and the San Leandro Police Department recognize the continuing <br /> need for on -site Police presence in our schools; and recognize that presence as an investment in the <br /> future of our community's children; <br /> WHEREAS, the San Leandro Police Department desires to continue the School Resource <br /> Officer Program for fiscal year 2003 -2004, which may be funded from monies available from the <br /> Fiscal Year 2002 Federal Local Law Enforcement Block Grant; <br /> WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 2002 Federal Local Law Enforcement Block Grant Funds will <br /> not supplant general fund expenditures; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Chief of Police of the City of San Leandro is <br /> authorized, in its behalf, to request these funds from the Fiscal Year 2002 Federal Local Law <br /> • <br /> Enforcement Block Grant. <br /> IT 1S AGREED that funding continuation of this program is assumed by the Resolution, <br /> consistent with the City's Charter, Ordinances and adopted budget, and that the City will establish a <br /> trust fund for the grant monies. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br /> follows: That said participation is hereby approved and authorized. • <br />
