IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 2012 -045 <br />SUBJECT: Review of Proposal from Alameda County Medical Center for a Three - <br />Year Financial commitment from the City of San Leandro, Combined with <br />Financial Contributions from the County of Alameda and Eden Township <br />Healthcare District, to Prevent the Potential Closure of San Leandro <br />Hospital and to Maintain the Facility as an Acute Care Hospital with 24 <br />Hour, 7 Days a Week Emergency Services under the Ownership and <br />Operation of the Alameda County Medical Center <br />MEETING DATE: November 5, 2012 <br />ACTION: The City Council accepted the hybrid proposal; indicated approval in <br />principle of providing a financial subsidy of up to $1 million a year for <br />three years in support of San Leandro Hospital; and authorized the <br />city manager to initiate time- limited negotiations with Alameda <br />County Medical Center (ACMC) for the express purpose of reaching <br />an agreement, subject to approval by the City Council, on the specific <br />terms of a subsidy in the form of a payment directly to ACMC for the <br />purpose of subsidizing the operations of an emergency department <br />and acute inpatient services at the San Leandro Hospital for a period <br />of not less than three years. <br />VOTE: M /S /C Prola and Reed.
