• • DRAFT <br /> 1994 -1995 MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br /> BETWEEN THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS, <br /> LOCAL #1428 - MANAGEMENT UNIT R-34 <br /> AND THE ALAMEDA COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> THIS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING is entered into by the Director of Personnel <br /> and Labor Relations of the County of Alameda on behalf of the Alameda County 'Fire <br /> Department hereinafter named as " Department" and the International Association . of <br /> • Firefighters Local 1428, hereinafter named as "Union" as a recommendation to the governing- <br /> . <br /> body, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Alameda, concerning the conditions of <br /> employment to be in effect during the period January 1, 1994 through December 31, 1995, for <br /> those employees working in the representation units referred to and further described in <br /> Section 1. of this MEMORANDUM. <br /> SECTION 1. RECOGNITION <br /> The County/Department recognizes the Union as the exclusive bargaining representative for <br /> all full-time, permanent, and probationary employees in Management Representation Unit <br /> R -034 in the classifications as specifically enumerated in Appendix "A" of this Memorandum. <br /> The Union recognizes its obligation to cooperate with the County/Department to assure <br /> maximum service of the highest quality and efficiency to the citizens of Alameda County <br /> • together with its obligations to the employees which the Union represents. <br /> SECTION 2. NO DISCRIMINATION <br /> A. DISCRIMINATION' PROHIBITED. No persons employed by the Alameda County <br /> Fire Department shall be appointed, reduced, or removed, or in any way favored or <br /> discriminated against because of political or religious opinions or affiliations, or because <br /> of racial or national origin or sexual orientation; and to the extent prohibited by law, <br /> no person shall be discriminated against because of age, sex, sexual orientation or • <br /> • physical disability. <br /> B. NO DISCRIMINATION BECAUSE OF UNION ACTIVITY.
