• 4110 1 .1 it <br /> PROCEDURES GOVERNING DEPARTMENTAL PARTICIPATION ON ORAL BOARD <br /> The following policies are intended to serve as guidelines upon which future operating department <br /> participation in the oral appraisal interview for both open and promotional examinations is to be <br /> based. <br /> The oral appraisal interview board should ordinarily consist of at least two members (except <br /> for entry level, open examinations.) <br /> When the classification being examined for requires knowledge or skill in a specific field,•at <br /> least one board member should possess experience in that field. <br /> Candidates who are rescheduled for their oral appraisal interview may be interviewed by the <br /> board individually at a later date, provided the board member agrees to make him/her self <br /> available, or may be examined by a County interviewer only. <br /> When an oral appraisal board member has prior knowledge of the candidate's <br /> background/experience, the candidate may ask to exclude said board member from the <br /> interview, and similarly the board member may ask to excuse him/herself from the interview. <br /> Departmental interviewers should minimize the number of times they sit as a rating member <br /> for candidates from within their department or agency. <br /> Operating agencies and departments may have rating participants, except that the <br /> individual(s) making hiring decisions should not rate candidates from within his/her <br /> department or agency. <br /> • <br /> IAFF Local 1428 - Management Unit R-34 <br /> January 1, 1994- December 31, 1995 <br /> 40 <br /> 3 0 8 Local 1428 -M/DR <br /> • <br /> euam•ana 9a <br />
