City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: June 3, 2013 <br />Staff Report <br />Agenda Section:File Number:13-285 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number:8.M. <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:Staff Report Approving a Sewer Agency Charge Billing and Collection <br />Agreement with East Bay Municipal Utility District to Conduct Sewer Utility <br />Commercial Account Billing Services for 10 Years, Effective July 1, 2013 <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Staff recommends Council approval of a Sewer Agency Charge Billing and Collection <br />Agreement with East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) to continue to provide billing <br />services for the City's commercial sewer accounts for 10 years, commencing July 1, 2013. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Sewer Utility provides service to approximately 2,000 commercial accounts which <br />generate approximately $1.5 million in revenue annually. The fees paid to EBMUD under the <br />Agreement will continue to equal 2-3% of gross revenues collected. <br />EBMUD has provided commercial sewer account billing and collection services since July 1, <br />2003.
