2 <br /> <br /> A ballot for you to vote “yes” or “no” to establish the District and to levy and collect the <br />annual assessment. Ballot shows your proportional Year 1 assessment amount; and <br /> <br /> A copy of the Downtown San Leandro Community Benefit District Management District <br />Plan. <br /> <br />You may return your signed ballot by mail in the enclosed ballot return envelope (remember to <br />add postage) or deliver it in person to the City of San Leandro, City Clerk’s Office, 835 E. 14th <br />Street, San Leandro, CA 94577. To be counted, the City Clerk must receive your signed <br />ballot prior to the close of the public testimony part of the public hearing on District <br />establishment on July 15, 2013. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of the public testimony in the public hearing, City Clerk or designee will <br />tabulate the ballots. The City Council will consider the proposed assessments at this public <br />hearing. The City Council shall not impose an assessment if there is a majority protest. A <br />majority protest exists if, upon the conclusion of the hearing, ballots submitted in opposition to <br />the assessment exceed the ballots submitted in favor of the assessment.
