1. During construction the following high standards for sanitation are required: Garbage cans, <br /> construction dumpsters, and debris piles shall be removed on a minimum weekly basis. All <br /> food related trash items such as wrappers, cans, bottles, and food scraps shall be disposed of <br /> in closed containers only and shall be regularly removed from the site. Inspections, <br /> conducted as part of the regular construction compliance, will be conducted to ensure <br /> compliance of the Applicant and contractors with this requirement. <br /> V. FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> A. A minimum 20-foot wide emergency vehicular access road shall be provided within 150 <br /> feet of all of the exterior walls of the rear unit. The roadway shall be designed to hold the <br /> weight of emergency vehicles. An alternate to providing the road is to provide a NFPA 13 <br /> sprinkler system in the rear structure. A permit is required from the Fire Department prior <br /> to installation of the sprinkler system. Measures shall be provided prior to start of <br /> construction (roadway) or prior to occupancy(sprinkler system). <br /> B. Prior to the start of construction, fire hydrants shall be available or an additional fire <br /> hydrant provided within 250 feet of the frontage of the property. If the existing fire <br /> hydrants do not meet this requirement, a new fire hydrant shall be installed. Show the <br /> location of the closest fire hydrant on the building permit plans. <br /> C. Prior to the issuance of a building permit, the proposed project shall be required to meet <br /> minimum fire flow standards as per Appendix B of the California Fire Code. If the nearest <br /> hydrant is not within standards, a new hydrant will be required. Verification of adequate <br /> water supply for this building shall be provided. Applicant shall provide information <br /> available from EBMUD on what fire flow (gpm) is available at the site. <br /> D. The project shall comply with the applicable Building and Fire Codes as adopted by the <br /> City of San Leandro. Building construction plans shall be submitted and approved prior to <br /> • start of any work through completion of the project. <br /> VI. POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> A. The applicant shall submit typical details and specifications for the security of the structure <br /> with details subject to the review and approval of the City of San Leandro Police <br /> Department and the Community Development Director. Said details and specifications <br /> shall include, but are not limited to, dead bolt locks, front-door door viewers, sliding glass <br /> door and window locking and anti forced entry devices. <br /> B. All building addresses shall be placed in such a position as to be plainly visible and legible <br /> from the street. Said numbers shall contrast with their background and be visible at night. <br /> Details including number size and location shall be submitted for the review and approval <br /> of the City of San Leandro Police Department, Fire Marshal and the Community <br /> Development Director, prior to issuance of building permits. Specific property addresses <br /> will be assigned by the City's Building and Safety Division of the Community <br /> Development Department. <br /> VII.
