Shih. (1005) <br /> On motion by Council Member Galvan, who moved its approval , seconded by <br /> Council Member Kerr, with Mayor Corbett voting no (1) , Council Member <br /> Myers abstaining (1) , and carried by a majority vote (5) , the City <br /> Council : <br /> 1. Approved the Findings of Fact. <br /> 2. Approved the Conditions of Approval , as amended, adding the <br /> following: <br /> "In the event that the rear wall and footings need to be completely <br /> removed in order to gain compliance with the Building Code, the <br /> Variance will no longer be in effect and the Applicant will either <br /> be required to tear down and rebuild the addition so that it no <br /> longer encroaches into the 10-foot setback or will have the <br /> opportunity to re-apply for a new Variance to rebuild the <br /> structure. " <br /> V. Minute Order No. 95-24, Motion Directing the City Attorney to File an <br /> Action with the Public Utilities Commission Against Southern Pacific <br /> Railroad Company for Maintenance of At-Grade Crossings. (2004/1122) <br /> On motion by Council Member Myers, who moved its approval , seconded by <br /> Council Member Kerr, and carried by a majority vote (7) , the City <br /> Council directed the City Attorney to file an action with the Public <br /> Utilities Commission against Southern Pacific Railroad Company for <br /> Maintenance of At-Grade Crossings. <br /> W. Matter of Letter from the Library-Historical Commission Recommending <br /> Purchase of Property to Extend Manor Branch Library. (1013) <br /> Mayor Corbett requested comments from the City Council and referred <br /> this matter to the City Council Facilities Committee. <br /> Council Member Kerr said he would like to know how much it would cost <br /> to buy the property next door to the library, how much to rehabilitate <br /> the buildings, and what alternative sites would be possible for a new <br /> branch library in the Washington Manor/Bonaire/Floresta area to serve <br /> all the residents. He said a new library could be built at a location <br /> with better parking, fewer busy streets, and be more accessible, <br /> perhaps at Washington Manor Park. <br /> Council Member Polvorosa said the Library-Historical Commission should <br /> receive input from the Washington Manor Homeowners Association. <br />
