Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - May 1, 1995 Page - 12 - NEW BUSINESS (continued) S. Matter of Nomination of Member to Human Resources Commission (District 4) - Shirley Kerr. Vice Mayor Kerr said he and Ms. Kerr are not related. He said she worked with the Chamber of Commerce for a number of years and volunteered at San Leandro Hospital for many years. He said Ms. Kerr is very interested and anxious to get going. The following Motion was then introduced: Minute Order No. 95-27. Matter of Nomination of Member to Human Resources Commission (District 4) - Shirley Kerr. (2024) On motion by Council Member Kerr, who moved its approval , seconded by Council Member Galvan, and carried by a majority vote (6) , with Council Member Polvorosa absent (1) , the City Council approved the nomination of Shirley Kerr to the Human Resources Commission (District 4) . T. Minute Order No. 95-28. Matter of Nomination of Member to Recreation and Parks Commission (SLUSD) - Lee Jones. (1020) On motion by Council Member Myers, who moved its approval , seconded by Council Member Kerr, and carried by a majority vote (6) , with Council Member Polvorosa absent (1) , the City Council approved the nomination of Lee Jones to the Recreation and Parks Commission (SLUSD) . U. Matter of Formation of City Council Ad Hoc Committee, Consisting of Council Members Kerr, Myers, and Perry, Regarding the Washington Manor Junior League's Request for Support of Poney Baseball Association Pacific Zone Championship Tournament. Vice Mayor Kerr said this is a major West Coast tournament, and the winners go on to the national tournament in Indianapolis. He said the group is not asking for any City money, but just the use of the ballfield. He said they will be asking businesses, etc. , for donations to raise $7,500 for expenses. He said this should be a good tournament, to be held at San Leandro Ball Park in August, involving 16- and 17-year-old boys from All Star teams.
