Matter of Nomination of Member to Human Resources Commission (District <br /> 4) - Shirley Kerr. <br /> Vice Mayor Kerr said he and Ms. Kerr are not related. He said she <br /> worked with the Chamber of Commerce for a number of years and <br /> volunteered at San Leandro Hospital for many years. He said Ms. Kerr <br /> is very interested and anxious to get going. <br /> The following Motion was then introduced: <br /> Minute Order No. 95-27. Matter of Nomination of Member to Human <br /> Resources Commission (District 4) - Shirley Kerr. (2024) <br /> On motion by Council Member Kerr, who moved its approval , seconded by <br /> Council Member Galvan, and carried by a majority vote (6) , with Council <br /> Member Polvorosa absent (1) , the City Council approved the nomination <br /> of Shirley Kerr to the Human Resources Commission (District 4) . <br /> T. Minute Order No. 95-28. Matter of Nomination of Member to Recreation <br /> and Parks Commission (SLUSD) - Lee Jones. (1020) <br /> On motion by Council Member Myers, who moved its approval , seconded by <br /> Council Member Kerr, and carried by a majority vote (6) , with Council <br /> Member Polvorosa absent (1) , the City Council approved the nomination <br /> of Lee Jones to the Recreation and Parks Commission (SLUSD) . <br /> U. Matter of Formation of City Council Ad Hoc Committee, Consisting of <br /> Council Members Kerr, Myers, and Perry, Regarding the Washington Manor <br /> Junior League's Request for Support of Poney Baseball Association <br /> Pacific Zone Championship Tournament. <br /> Vice Mayor Kerr said this is a major West Coast tournament, and the <br /> winners go on to the national tournament in Indianapolis. He said the <br /> group is not asking for any City money, but just the use of the <br /> ballfield. He said they will be asking businesses, etc. , for donations <br /> to raise $7,500 for expenses. He said this should be a good <br /> tournament, to be held at San Leandro Ball Park in August, involving <br /> 16- and 17-year-old boys from All Star teams. <br />
