Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - June 5, 1995 Page - 3 - 5. PUBLIC COMMENTS Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. The public is invited to make any comments related to Agenda items (including San Leandro Redevelopment Agency, San Leandro Parking Authority, and San Leandro Industrial Development Authority) or other items of public interest at this time. Comments regarding Public Hearing items will be heard during the Public Hearing portion of the Agenda. A. Irene Johnson said the Farmers' Market held at the Library was a spectacular event and received positive comments. B. Lavern Anderson, representing the Bonaire Civic League, said cars park on the lawn at 14459 Cypress Street; and vehicles drive at excessive speeds on Wiley, Locust, Merced, and the whole Bonaire area. C. Martin Francis presented Flag Day Programs for the June 10th ceremonies. Mayor Corbett noted Mr. Francis has been named the Chamber of Commerce "Citizen of the Month. " D. Dana Johnson, Farrelly Drive, said the City Council should determine whether the position of Mayor is part time or full time and set compensation accordingly. E. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, spoke regarding the Mayor's 10- Point Plan, public participation, Fire Department consolidation, and the conduct of City Council meetings. G. Joel DeWitt, 1458 - 138th Avenue, spoke regarding the position of the Mayor. H. Ellen Geis, 834 Cary Drive, spoke regarding the relationship between the City Council and City Manager and regarding Fire Department consolidation. She said the City Manager should contact community activists to find out what residents want. She also spoke regarding the Creek Trail and said she does not want it to involve her property. 6. CONSENT CALENDAR Consent Calendar items are typically routine in nature and are considered for approval by the City Council with one single action. The City Council may remove items from the Consent Calendar for purposes of discussion. Items listed on the Consent Calendar are deemed to have been read by title. The Consent Calendar was approved as follows: Introduced by Council Member Kerr, who moved adoption of the Consent Calendar, with all items deemed to have been read by title, seconded by Council Member Galvan, and carried by a majority vote (7) .
