Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - June 5, 1995 Page - 3 - <br /> 5. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. The public is invited <br /> to make any comments related to Agenda items (including San Leandro <br /> Redevelopment Agency, San Leandro Parking Authority, and San Leandro <br /> Industrial Development Authority) or other items of public interest at this <br /> time. Comments regarding Public Hearing items will be heard during the <br /> Public Hearing portion of the Agenda. <br /> A. Irene Johnson said the Farmers' Market held at the Library was a <br /> spectacular event and received positive comments. <br /> B. Lavern Anderson, representing the Bonaire Civic League, said cars park <br /> on the lawn at 14459 Cypress Street; and vehicles drive at excessive <br /> speeds on Wiley, Locust, Merced, and the whole Bonaire area. <br /> C. Martin Francis presented Flag Day Programs for the June 10th <br /> ceremonies. Mayor Corbett noted Mr. Francis has been named the Chamber <br /> of Commerce "Citizen of the Month. " <br /> D. Dana Johnson, Farrelly Drive, said the City Council should determine <br /> whether the position of Mayor is part time or full time and set <br /> compensation accordingly. <br /> E. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, spoke regarding the Mayor's 10- <br /> Point Plan, public participation, Fire Department consolidation, and <br /> the conduct of City Council meetings. <br /> G. Joel DeWitt, 1458 - 138th Avenue, spoke regarding the position of the <br /> Mayor. <br /> H. Ellen Geis, 834 Cary Drive, spoke regarding the relationship between <br /> the City Council and City Manager and regarding Fire Department <br /> consolidation. She said the City Manager should contact community <br /> activists to find out what residents want. She also spoke regarding <br /> the Creek Trail and said she does not want it to involve her property. <br /> 6. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> Consent Calendar items are typically routine in nature and are considered <br /> for approval by the City Council with one single action. The City Council <br /> may remove items from the Consent Calendar for purposes of discussion. <br /> Items listed on the Consent Calendar are deemed to have been read by title. <br /> The Consent Calendar was approved as follows: <br /> Introduced by Council Member Kerr, who moved adoption of the Consent <br /> Calendar, with all items deemed to have been read by title, seconded by <br /> Council Member Galvan, and carried by a majority vote (7) . <br /> A.
