Ordinance No. 95-011, An Ordinance Establishing Election and Nomination <br /> Procedures for the March 26, 1996 Municipal Election (establishes <br /> nominating procedures to avoid conflict with potential City furlough) . <br /> (1184/1055) <br /> Introduced by Council Member Polvorosa, who moved that it be passed to <br /> print, seconded by Council. Member Loeffler, and carried by a majority <br /> vote (5) , with Council Members Galvan and Kerr absent (2) . <br /> N. City Council Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies. <br /> Council Member Perry reported that ACAP obtained a $2.5 million grant <br /> for Southern Alameda County for housing/jobs linkage to provide <br /> transitional housing and help shelters. <br /> Vice Mayor Kerr said the Congestion Management Agency has submitted a <br /> request through the State Traffic Systems Management Program for <br /> $650,000 for the I-880 Reliever Route Hesperian Signal Interconnect. <br /> The I-880 Intermodal Corridor Study is in limbo because the funds are <br /> being transferred from Caltrans to CMA. <br /> 0. Approval of Work Session Items Requiring Action. See New Business, page <br /> 10, Item 0. <br /> P. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken. <br /> The City Attorney reported that the_ . City _Council accepted the <br /> arbitrator's award in Velardo vs City of San Leandro, which was an <br /> intersection collision involving a San Leandro Police Officer. The <br /> amount of the award was $28,500 plus taxable costs. <br /> 10. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> A. Council Member Perry commended those involved-in-the-Day at the Casa <br /> and said she particularly enjoyed the Mariachi Band. She also <br /> commended the Music in the Summer Air program and the Chautacqua Summer <br /> Music Program at Bancroft Junior High School . <br /> B. Council Member Loeffler said parking meters are disappearing from the <br /> streets of smaller towns in the northwest part of the country; Chambers <br /> of Commerce in the smaller towns are very active; and there are a lot <br /> of welcoming activities, such as murals. <br /> C. Council Member Myers requested a report on the money received from the <br /> Cherry Festival . <br />
