Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - August 21, 1995 Page - 8 - <br /> NEW BUSINESS (continued) <br /> A. An Ordinance Amending Title I, Chapter 3, of the San Leandro <br /> Municipal Code Relating to Youth Advisory Commission Appointments, <br /> Number of Youth Advisory Commissioners, and Their Terms of Office <br /> (increases number of members from 14 to 21 , all selected At Large; <br /> changes terms from two years to one year; and includes 9th and 10th <br /> grade students) . <br /> Kenton Jang, Youth Coordinator, said the modifications to the Code <br /> represent a good opportunity to get more young people involved. It <br /> will allow the Council to select members At-Large, reduce terms <br /> from two years to one year (renewable to four years) , and allow <br /> freshmen and sophomores to serve. <br /> The City Council discussed the matter and requested that the <br /> Ordinance be amended to provide that Council Members will go to <br /> their districts first for appointments before going to the At-Large <br /> pool . <br /> The City Attorney outlined a proposed change, and the City Council <br /> approved the Ordinance, as amended. <br /> Ordinance No. 95-017, An Ordinance Amending Title I, Chapter 3, of <br /> the San Leandro Municipal Code Relating to Youth Advisory <br /> Commission Appointments, Number of Youth Advisory Commissioners, <br /> and Their Terms of Office (increases number of members from 14 to <br /> 21 , all selected At Large; changes terms from two years to one <br /> year; and includes 9th and 10th grade students) . <br /> Introduced by Council Member Perry, who moved that it be passed to <br /> print as amended, seconded by Council Member Loeffler, and carried <br /> by a majority vote (7) . <br /> 8. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> A. Matter of Zoning Code and Zoning Map Changes (A-95-4) in the RO <br /> Residential Outer District, Zoning Code Changes in Article 16 <br /> Relating to Accessory Structures, and Other Miscellaneous Zoning <br /> Code Changes. <br /> This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above <br /> matter, Kathleen Livermore, Associate Planner, presented the staff <br /> report and said the Ordinance implements the City Council 's <br /> direction to staff to make all requirements in the RO Zone <br /> consistent with those in the old 0 Zone. It also makes several <br /> other changes to improve customer service. She said the Planning <br /> Commission unanimously recommended approval . She said the Planning <br /> Commission also requested City Council direction regarding <br /> reevaluation of the RO parking standards. <br />
