Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - November 27, 1995 Page - 11 - <br /> NEW BUSINESS (continued) <br /> H. City Council Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies. <br /> Council Member Perry said San Leandro received an award from ABAG for <br /> its earthquake preparedness program. She said the ABAG meeting focused <br /> on constitutional revisions; she will make a video tape available, as <br /> well as a survey requesting input. <br /> Council Member Perry said the Waste Management Authority will hold a <br /> retreat to look at strategic planning, and she will bring back <br /> information. She said the Livermore compost facility has been put on <br /> hold, including road development, probably until next May. <br /> Council Member Perry said the East Bay Division met in San Leandro and <br /> heard presentations by legislators Bob Campbell and Mike Sweeney. <br /> I. Approval of Work Session Items Requiring Action. <br /> None <br /> J. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken. <br /> The City Attorney reported no final action was taken on the two <br /> litigation cases. <br /> 8. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> None <br /> 9. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> A. Council Member Perry said the City Connection opened on Friday, and she <br /> thanked the Key Club for handing out balloons. She displayed several <br /> items available for purchase at the City Connection and thanked all <br /> involved. <br /> B. Council Member Loeffler commended the San Leandro Journal for its new <br /> perspective and said he is pleased they focused on local sports and <br /> gave credit to youth. <br /> Council Member Loeffler spoke regarding Supervisor Chan's San Leandro <br /> Collaborative and said the Haas Foundation sees a lot of wisdom in what <br /> they are trying to do. He said the next step is a January meeting with <br /> key providers to get to the concerns of youth. He said there is <br /> concern that federal cutbacks will impact youth. <br />
