Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - February 1, 1993 Page - 2 -
PUBLIC COMMENTS (continued)
B. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, spoke regarding the City Council 's
recent action related to the Dunsmuir Development. He said he tried to
convince the City Council not to take the action it did because it
would shatter their credibility, and it has done so.
Mr. Filipovich said the City Budget Bulletin says the Public Advisory
Task Force represents "all" the citizens of San Leandro. He said the
Task Force was appointed, not elected; and he said not everyone is
happy with what has come out of the Task Force. He said the Budget
Bulletin should be reworded to say the Task Force represents "the
citizens" of San Leandro, not "all the citizens. "
6. CONSENT CALENDAR
A. Minutes of the meeting of January 11 , 1993 were approved as submitted.
B. Minutes of the meeting of January 19, 1993 were approved as amended.
C. Resolution No. 93-22, Resolution Designating No Parking and Restricted
Parking, Handicapped Parking, Martin Boulevard and Terra Avenue, Title
VI , Chapter 1 of the San Leandro Municipal Code (provides for on-
street, handicapped parking stalls at 863 Martin Boulevard and 14603
Jullietta Street [Terra Avenue frontage]) . (1022)
Introduced by Council Member Myers, who moved its adoption, seconded by
Council Member Kerr, and carried by the following called vote:
AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Kerr, Myers, Perry, Polvorosa;
Mayor Karp ( 7 )
NOES: None ( 0 )
ABSENT: None ( 0 )
7. NEW BUSINESS
A. Resolution Approving Contractual Services Agreement with Arroyo Seco
Associates, Inc. (provides for services to conduct a feasibility study
for the privatization of the Golf Complex) .
Council Member Kerr said this is a great project but he has a problem
with all of the consultants the City is hiring. He said he would vote
for the Agreement because he wants to see this project move ahead but
feels these kinds of studies should be able to be done in-house. Mayor
Karp noted that privatization is one of the recommendations of the.
Public Advisory Task Force.
