He said he has <br /> read that it will cost $2 million to dredge the 2-mile channel , but now <br /> there is a $5-million dredging-tailing fee. He said the citizens are <br /> being lied to. He questioned why the City is planning on removing <br /> South Dike Road. He said the City took out a loan from the California <br /> Small Boat Association. He said he will be running for Mayor. <br /> City Manager Mike Oliver said City staff would be glad to sit down and <br /> spend time with Mr. Grubbs. Mr. Grubbs provided his phone number. <br /> E. Larry Norry, 2532 Williams Street, said his address was incorrect in <br /> the August 16th minutes; staff said this would be corrected. <br /> F. Rick Richards, 335 Peralta Avenue, said plans for the Alzheimer's <br /> Memory Walk are in full swing. He said the San Lorenzo Arroyo Marching <br /> Band will be there, and they are working to get the San Leandro High <br /> School Jazz Band and the Dance Studio. He said the response has been <br /> very good, and it is getting exciting. He distributed brochures and <br /> said he had a supply of tickets for the A's game for Council Member <br /> Perry to give to people she has recruited.. He said the Walk will be on <br /> October 2nd, starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Marina Par Course. <br /> 4. PRESENTATIONS (continued) <br /> Mayor Faria presented Certificates of Commendation to Youth Advisory <br /> Commissioners Alvarez, Kallan, and Cardena. The Commissioners said <br /> serving on the Commission was a lot of fun, and they accomplished a lot <br /> in a short period of time. They said they hope parents will continue <br /> to get their children involved so they can take an active role in <br /> government. <br /> 6. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> A. The minutes of the meeting of August 16, 1993 were approved as <br /> submitted. <br />
