Matter of City Council Ballot Arguments Related to 1994 Election Measures. (1055) On motion by Council Member Myers, who moved its approval , seconded by Council Member Nahm, and carried by the following called vote, the City Council approved the Ballot Argument for Measure E, with the following amendments: -- Mayor Faria signing on behalf of the entire City Council . -- The Wicks/Merced intersection will be added to the section on traffic improvements. -- Remove the words: " . . .out of town. . . " from the last paragraph. AYES: Council Members Kerr, Myers, Nahm, Polvorosa; Mayor Faria ( 5 ) NOES: Council Member Perry ( 1 ) ABSENT: None ( 0 ) ABSTAIN: Council Member Corbett ( 1 ) E. Minute Order No. 94-5. Report Regarding Alameda County Committee on Environmental Technology. On motion by Council Member Nahm, who moved its approval , seconded by Council Member Corbett, and carried by the following called vote, the City Council directed staff to pursue the Alameda Center for Environmental Technology proposal aggressively to locate it in the City of San Leandro, if the opportunity presents itself; and, if not, to remain in the process and prepare for future opportunities. AYES: Council Members Corbett, Kerr, Myers, Nahm, Perry, Polvorosa; Mayor Faria ( 7 ) NOES: None ( 0 ) ABSENT: None ( 0 ) 8. PUBLIC HEARINGS A. Matter of Vacating a Public Right-of-Way, A Remnant Portion of Alvarado Street, Southwest of the Southern Pacific Transportation Company Railroad Tracks. This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above matter, Bill Silva, City Engineer, said the subject property is a remnant portion of Alvarado Street not needed to extend the street as part of the extension of Thornton to the new Estudillo/Davis Street.
