Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - January 18, 1994 Page - 9 - <br /> NEW BUSINESS (continued) <br /> The following Motion was then introduced: <br /> Minute Order No. 94-4. Matter of City Council Ballot Arguments Related <br /> to 1994 Election Measures. (1055) <br /> On motion by Council Member Myers, who moved its approval , seconded by <br /> Council Member Nahm, and carried by the following called vote, the City <br /> Council approved the Ballot Argument for Measure E, with the following <br /> amendments: <br /> -- Mayor Faria signing on behalf of the entire City Council . <br /> -- The Wicks/Merced intersection will be added to the section on <br /> traffic improvements. <br /> -- Remove the words: " . . .out of town. . . " from the last paragraph. <br /> AYES: Council Members Kerr, Myers, Nahm, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Faria ( 5 ) <br /> NOES: Council Member Perry ( 1 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSTAIN: Council Member Corbett ( 1 ) <br /> E. Minute Order No. 94-5. Report Regarding Alameda County Committee on <br /> Environmental Technology. <br /> On motion by Council Member Nahm, who moved its approval , seconded by <br /> Council Member Corbett, and carried by the following called vote, the <br /> City Council directed staff to pursue the Alameda Center for <br /> Environmental Technology proposal aggressively to locate it in the City <br /> of San Leandro, if the opportunity presents itself; and, if not, to <br /> remain in the process and prepare for future opportunities. <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Kerr, Myers, Nahm, Perry, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Faria ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> 8. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> A. Matter of Vacating a Public Right-of-Way, A Remnant Portion of Alvarado <br /> Street, Southwest of the Southern Pacific Transportation Company <br /> Railroad Tracks. <br /> This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above <br /> matter, Bill Silva, City Engineer, said the subject property is a <br /> remnant portion of Alvarado Street not needed to extend the street as <br /> part of the extension of Thornton to the new Estudillo/Davis Street. <br />
