Council Member Corbett said she is pleased to see cooperation between <br /> staff and EBMUD. She said, as representative to the Economic <br /> Development Advisory Board, they met and discussed this matter and will <br /> ' ask the EDAB Board to form a task force to look at health issues, <br /> financial issues, reuse of property, liability, etc. <br /> 0. Council Member Perry said the Department of Housing and Community <br /> Development State Housing Element is outdated. She said the State will <br /> be holding a hearing on February 15th in San Jose regarding revising <br /> the Element and City staff should attend. <br /> E. Council Member Perry said she is Chair of the Telecommunications Task <br /> Force for the League of California Cities. She said they met with <br /> representatives of Pacific Bell , Cable TV companies, etc. , in a <br /> roundtable discussion regarding franchise fees and the impact on <br /> cities. She said they also met with consultants from the Assembly and <br /> Senate to develop plans and be in the loop. She said this is a hot <br /> topic and cities must make sure they are not left out and that they do <br /> not lose an important source of income. <br /> F. Mayor Faria said regulation of cable TV at the Federal level will mean <br /> a loss of local revenue such as franchise fees and utility taxes. <br /> G. Council Member Nahm said the guard rail which has been revealed by <br /> cutting back the foliage on upper Estudillo is badly deteriorated and <br /> needs to be -replaced. <br /> H. Council Member Nahm said he attended the 35th Anniversary celebration <br /> of the building of the Saint Felicitas School and Church. He said <br /> there was a good turnout, and it was a nice celebration. <br /> I . Mike Oliver acknowledged the actions the City Council had taken to <br /> approve plans and specifications for the seismic retrofit of three fire <br /> stations as well as the initial design of retrofit of the library. He <br /> said the Civic Center construction is running on time and within <br /> budget. <br /> 10.
