Matter of Small Business Recycling Program. <br /> Bob Taylor, Public Works Services Director, said the proposed program <br /> is a pilot program under a grant from the Alameda County Waste <br /> Management Authority to enable San Leandro Disposal to start on a small <br /> scale. He said this program will be the first of its kind in Alameda <br /> County. He said business assistance information has been given to all <br /> businesses in San Leandro, including the Oro Loma service area. Mr. <br /> Taylor said this program will involve about 200 different types of <br /> businesses. He said a high percentage of businesses are currently <br /> doing their own recycling, especially the larger producers; but this <br /> program will assist small business owners on how to conduct recycling <br /> programs. The program will include feedback from the businesses <br /> involved, individual outreach programs, talking to employees, quarterly <br /> reports, etc. <br /> The following Resolution and Motions were then introduced: <br /> Resolution No. 94-26, Resolution Approving Agreement for Funding with <br /> Alameda County Waste Management Authority to Start Up a Small Business <br /> Recycling Program (approves funding Agreement for grant funds of <br /> $60,000 for start-up of a Small Business Recycling Program in San <br /> Leandro) . (1934/2047) <br /> Introduced by Council Member Corbett, who moved its adoption, seconded <br /> by Council Member Nahm, and carried by the following called vote: <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Myers, Nahm, Perry; <br /> Mayor Faria ( 5 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: Council Members Kerr and Polvorosa ( 2 ) <br /> Minute Order No. 94-7, Motion to Accept Grant Funds of $60,000 and <br /> Appropriate for Small Business Recycling Program (accepts grant funds <br /> and appropriates them for use in starting a Small Business Recycling <br /> Program) . (1934/2047) <br /> On motion by Council Member Perry, who moved its approval , seconded by <br /> Council Member Corbett, and carried by the following called vote, the <br /> City Council approved the motion to accept Grant Funds of $60,000 from <br /> the Alameda County Waste Management Authority and to appropriate the <br /> funds for a Small Business Recycling Program. <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Myers, Nahm, Perry; <br /> Mayor Faria ( 5 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: Council Members Kerr and Polvorosa ( 2 ) <br />
