Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - February 7, 1994 Page - 7 - NEW BUSINESS (continued) D. Matter of Small Business Recycling Program. Bob Taylor, Public Works Services Director, said the proposed program is a pilot program under a grant from the Alameda County Waste Management Authority to enable San Leandro Disposal to start on a small scale. He said this program will be the first of its kind in Alameda County. He said business assistance information has been given to all businesses in San Leandro, including the Oro Loma service area. Mr. Taylor said this program will involve about 200 different types of businesses. He said a high percentage of businesses are currently doing their own recycling, especially the larger producers; but this program will assist small business owners on how to conduct recycling programs. The program will include feedback from the businesses involved, individual outreach programs, talking to employees, quarterly reports, etc. The following Resolution and Motions were then introduced: Resolution No. 94-26, Resolution Approving Agreement for Funding with Alameda County Waste Management Authority to Start Up a Small Business Recycling Program (approves funding Agreement for grant funds of $60,000 for start-up of a Small Business Recycling Program in San Leandro) . (1934/2047) Introduced by Council Member Corbett, who moved its adoption, seconded by Council Member Nahm, and carried by the following called vote: AYES: Council Members Corbett, Myers, Nahm, Perry; Mayor Faria ( 5 ) NOES: None ( 0 ) ABSENT: Council Members Kerr and Polvorosa ( 2 ) Minute Order No. 94-7, Motion to Accept Grant Funds of $60,000 and Appropriate for Small Business Recycling Program (accepts grant funds and appropriates them for use in starting a Small Business Recycling Program) . (1934/2047) On motion by Council Member Perry, who moved its approval , seconded by Council Member Corbett, and carried by the following called vote, the City Council approved the motion to accept Grant Funds of $60,000 from the Alameda County Waste Management Authority and to appropriate the funds for a Small Business Recycling Program. AYES: Council Members Corbett, Myers, Nahm, Perry; Mayor Faria ( 5 ) NOES: None ( 0 ) ABSENT: Council Members Kerr and Polvorosa ( 2 )
