Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - March 7, 1994 Page - 2 -
PUBLIC COMMENTS (continued)
City Manager Mike Oliver said the Herman Miller Company has a warehouse
facility in San Leandro. He said the City is attempting to get the
best possible price by finding a preferred buyer and was required by
the League of California Cities contract to go through the Santa Clara
County purchasing process. He said it is difficult to acquire some of
these items because they are only sold through certified or approved
vendors. He said staff will look into the possibility of having San
Leandro be the point of sale.
B. Scott Grubbs, 13475 Bancroft Avenue, said he had no problems with the
Resolution designating no parking for vehicles over six feet high. He
thinks it is a good idea. He asked questions about the possibility of
hazardous material on the site of Tract 6632. Staff explained that all
of the hazardous materials issues had been taken care of as part of the
approval process for the Planned Development.
C. Rick Richards, 335 Peralta Avenue, commended staff, particularly Neusa
Pollard, for the Home Information Fair that was held on Saturday. He
said he and his wife worked at one of the booths. He said good
information was provided to the community, and one of the lenders had
a loan approved within the first hour of the Fair.
D. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, said it appears the Bio-Mass
project is on schedule and will be able to obtain funding. He said it
was the citizens who went to Sacramento and had the Brown Act enforced.
6. CONSENT CALENDAR
A.
