CONSENT CALENDAR Council Member Polvorosa commented regarding Item 6.E, the Office of Criminal Justice grant for the D.A.R.E. program. He said both the D.A.R.E. program and the Partnership for Youth Safety Program are excellent programs. He asked Officer Autrey James, who works on the D.A.R.E. program, to say a few words. Officer James said not only are the police department and school districts involved in the D.A.R.E. program, but the parents are extremely dedicated to D.A.R.E. He said D.A.R.E. has made a great difference in the City; it lifts children's self-esteem. He said it started in 1989 with 4th and 5th grades and has now moved to K-3 as well as the high school . A.
