Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - May 2, 1994 Page - 6 - <br /> 7. NEW BUSINESS <br /> A. Minute Order No. 94-21. Matter of Appointment of Vice Mayor. (1315) <br /> On motion by Council Member Polvorosa, who moved its approval , seconded <br /> by Council Member Kerr, and carried by the following called vote, the <br /> City Council appointed Kent Myers Vice Mayor. <br /> AYES: Council Members Galvan, Kerr, Loeffler, Myers, Perry, <br /> Polvorosa; Mayor Corbett ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> Mayor Corbett presented a plaque to out-going Vice Mayor Julian <br /> Polvorosa and thanked him for the wonderful job he has done over the <br /> past year. <br /> B. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken. <br /> None <br /> 8. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> A. Matter of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Final Submission <br /> Statement, Program Year 1994-95. (2096) <br /> This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above <br /> matter, Jacqui Diaz, Acting Housing Coordinator, gave the staff report <br /> and said CDBG requires two opportunities for the public to provide <br /> comments on the Submission Statement. In response to questions from <br /> the City Council she described various categories, such as low and <br /> moderate income, blight, and emergency. <br /> The Hearing was then opened to the public. <br /> Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, asked if the Block Grant was <br /> similar to the gas tax and whether it was permissive or mandatory. <br /> There being no further comments from the public, on motion of Council <br /> Member Loeffler, seconded by Council Member Galvan, and carried <br /> unanimously, the Public Hearing was closed. <br />
