(2465) <br /> • <br /> Introduced by Council Member Myers, who moved its adoption, seconded by <br /> Council Member Kerr, and carried by the following called vote: <br /> AYES: Council Members Galvan, Kerr, Loeffler, Myers, Perry, <br /> Polvorosa; Mayor Corbett ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> 6. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> A. Council Member Kerr referred to comments that were made at the Hearing <br /> on the mural . He said there are a lot of cultural activities in San <br /> Leandro. He asked that staff look into the possibility of adding <br /> definitions regarding murals to the Zoning Code so that a graffiti <br /> artist can not say his graffiti is art and is permitted under the Code. <br /> B. Council Member Polvorosa noted the Volunteer Luncheon that was held <br /> last Saturday. He said the City of San Leandro is proud to utilize the <br /> services of over 600 volunteers, and he congratulated Nancy Hillis for <br /> the Luncheon and the program. <br /> C. Council Member Perry said she has been invited to testify before a PUC <br /> panel on behalf of the League of California Cities regarding the <br /> information highway. She said this shows that a dialogue has been <br /> established and said there is now a telecommunications report <br /> available. <br /> D. Mayor Corbett congratulated the Council on the Hearing on the mural and <br /> said the Council conducted the meeting with much decorum. <br /> E. Mayor Corbett noted that in the past the City Council has discussed <br /> ways to bring new people and diversity to City Boards and Commissions. <br /> She asked for support of the City Council to put a committee together, <br /> consisting of herself and Council Members Kerr and Polvorosa, to study <br /> City Council Boards and Commissions and asked that this matter be <br /> placed on the next Agenda. <br />
