Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - June 13, 1994 Page - 4 - PUBLIC HEARINGS (continued) that the Finance Committee should be looking at next year and beyond and coming back to the City Council with strategies. Mike Oliver said it is important to tie Economic Development Strategies to the development of revenue and said staff is working on recommendations to enhance long-term finances. The following Ordinances were then introduced: Ordinance No. 94-011, An Ordinance Amending Title II, Chapter 4, of the San Leandro Municipal Code Relating to Utility User Taxes for Telephone, Electrical , Gas and Cable Television Service, and Declaring This Ordinance to Be an Urgency Measure, to Take Effect Immediately, Because it Relates to Taxes for the Usual and Current Expenses of This City (provides for an increase in the utility-user tax for residential users from 5% to 6% and adds Cable TV to the tax base, to become effective immediately) . (1170) Introduced by Council Member Kerr, who moved that it be passed to print and adopted, seconded by Council Member Polvorosa, and carried by the following called vote: AYES: Council Members Galvan, Kerr, Myers, Perry, Polvorosa ( 5 ) NOES: Council Member Loeffler ( 1 ) ABSENT: Mayor Corbett ( 1 ) Ordinance No. 94-012, An Ordinance Amending Section 2-10-110 of Chapter 10, Title II of the San Leandro Municipal Code Relating to Uniform Transient Occupancy Tax and Declaring This Ordinance to Be an Urgency Measure, to Take Effect Immediately, Because It Relates to Taxes for the Usual and Current Expenses of This City (provides for an increase in the Transient Occupancy Tax from 8% to 10%, to become effective immediately) .
